Coronavirus (COVID-19) Dive Tour Operations Cairns Update

Our team at Cairns Dive Adventures wanted to give you a quick update about our response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and how this issue is affecting day tours and liveaboard dive trips to the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns.

The impact of the Australian Government’s decision to implement a 14-day lockdown for all international flights arriving into Australia is already hitting hard in Cairns and Far North Queensland and as of now all day tours and liveaboards have ceased operation until further notice.

Currently, all liveaboards and day boat tour companies have ceased operation until further notice.

Current Updates for Cairns

Currently, at the time of writing, there have been 19 official Coronavirus cases confirmed here in Cairns. Currently, all liveaboards and day boat tour companies are not operating until further notice. Until further notice from the Australian Government, the Cairns tourism industry has gone into complete lockdown.

Cancelations for Liveaboards and Day Boats:

We are asking all passengers to postpone there trips thru to 2021. With the tourism sectors from hotel, bus tours reef tours being hardest hit around the world we ask all passengers to please be patient as we work through this challenging time. We are offering passengers credit notes for those that cannot travel this year. All credit notes will be made open dated until such time as the person can travel.

Domestic Australian Travelers

Domestic Australian travelers are also in full lockdown with travel restrictions imposed and no more than two people out in public together.
