Tusa Dive Invests $3 Million In New Boat

Cairns’ Great Barrier Reef day dive and snorkel tour fleet will have a new vessel in June this year, when Tusa Dive launch the latest in their series, TUSA 6.

Currently being constructed by leading Brisbane company Aluminum Marine, the 24m TUSA 6 has been designed to maximise passenger comfort and environmental performance.

TUSA 6 is the fourth purpose-built boat in the Tusa Dive series and owners Phillip Hobbs and Chris Eade were pleased with its features.

“TUSA 6 is similar in design to our current vessel, but the new catamaran has improved features, combined with the latest technology, including panoramic windows, lounge-style interior seating, exterior seating on the stern top deck and ‘spray protected’ bow seating, as well as in-water platforms for easy access to the water.”

“In line with the company’s Advanced Ecotourism Accreditation, TUSA 6 will offer greater fuel efficiency through improved hull design, and will feature a full 2 stage waste treatment plant on board.”

TUSA 6 is a $3 million dollar investment in the future by locally owned and operated Tusa Dive, who have been innovative leaders in Cairns’ Great Barrier Reef day dive and snorkel tour industry for over 25 years.

Daily passenger numbers aboard TUSA 6 will be limited to just 60 people, providing maximum passenger comfort, both in and out of the water, aboard the catamaran which can seat 120.
