The weather in Cairns over the Easter school holidays is generally stunning! Average ambient air temperatures are around 28 degrees with very low humidity. You can expect beautiful blue skies and sunshine with little to no rain!

The Ocean Temperature is around 27 degrees Celsius, so it is still beautiful and warm enough for scuba diving and snorkeling the reef.

Great Adventures Green Island from – $122.00

A trip to Green Island offers a beautiful white sandy beach day. The ferry ride only takes 40 minutes from the Cairns Marlin Marina, and boats depart at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. daily. The trip includes all snorkel equipment, such as snorkels, fins, and masks. You can snorkel from the beach in the shallow coral gardens. There is a resort swimming pool and four food outlets where you can purchase food.

Norman, Saxon and Hastings Reef – $260.00

Have you ever wanted to try a first time introductory scuba dive? Well your in luck there is a wonderful day dive boats called Reef Experience that offers 4.5 hours snorkeling and one free first time introductory scuba dive. Enjoy snorkeling in beautiful shallow corals gardens at Norman, Saxon and Hastings reef systems. Boats depart at 8:00am and return to Cairns at 4:30pm. The trip includes all snorkel gear, lunch, morning and afternoon tea and best of all 1 x free introductory scuba dive! Remember to try any form of scuba diving everyone must be medically fit with no asthma and not be taking any prescription medication. PADI also recommends allowing up to 24 hours after diving before flying in an airplane.

Moore Reef Outer Reef Pontoon – $295.00

Are you traveling with children? Perhaps you are traveling with elderly people or perhaps a family member who does not swim. Then, you are best choosing an outer reef platform or pontoon, as they are locally known. Pontoons depart Cairns at 10:00 am and travel for just over 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive at an outer reef platform. From the platform, you can enjoy snorkeling, semi-submarines, glass bottom boats, underwater observatories, fish feeding, and optional extras like first-time introductory scuba diving, helmet diving, and scenic helicopter reef flights!

Scuba Diving the Outer Reef Walls – $420.00

Are you an open-water certified scuba diver? You may have your advanced diver certification. If so, you’re in luck; a fantastic outer reef dive boat called Silverswift Dive and Snorkel will whisk you 65 km offshore to Flynn, Milne, and Pellowe reef systems. It is regarded as one of the very best dive sites in Cairns. Certified divers can enjoy up to 3 certified dives on the same day. All dives are guided by professional, passionate dive instructors, with many of them having their Marina Biology degree. Dive over beautiful shallow coral gardens with hundreds of species of soft and hard corals. The outer edge walls of the reef offer the diver the chance to go down to 18+ meters. It is down here where you usually find beautiful black tip and white reef sharks, moray eels, and sometimes Octopus.

Visiting Cairns over the Easter holidays is the perfect short-stay vacation. You can enjoy beautiful warm weather with blue skies, sunshine, and warm ocean water.
