Brand New Half Day Snorkel Tour!

An exciting brand-new half-day snorkel tour has launched this month in Cairns. The boat is called Pure Snorkel! Locally owned and operated by Passions of Paradise and Ocean Freedom reef cruise owners. Pure Snorkelling” is a brand-new purpose-built 12m design twin hull vessel. Naval Architect Chris Tucker designed the boat with a genetic lineage.

The large twin-hull bulbs at the front of the boat make it very stable in the water, perfect for a half-day snorkel tour. Four 350-horsepower V10 outboard motors power the vessel with a general cruising speed of around 22 knots.

The boat will depart the Cairns Marlin Marina at 12:30 p.m. and return passengers to Cairns at 5:30 p.m. All snorkel equipment is provided, including snorkels, fins, masks, lycra suits, and life jackets.

The trip will give passengers two hours of snorkelling at one of over 15 reef sites. The boat has a wide array of reef permits and can visit Sudbury Cay, Briggs Reef, Moore Reef, Thetford Reef, Upolo Reef, Pretty Patches, Oyster Reef, and Breaking Patches.

This is an exciting addition to the Cairns snorkel and dive tourism offerings. The trip is catered to adventure thrill seekers wanting a high-speed, fun ride to and from the reef. The minimum age to travel on this tour is 6 years or older. Pure Snorkelling is a high-speed adventure activity. Everyone must be a confident and comfortable swimmer for your safety and enjoyment.

The tour is unsuitable if you are pregnant or have any musculoskeletal issues that a bumpy ride could aggravate. It is also unsuitable for anyone with cardiac or mobility issues or children and adults who cannot swim.
