Poseidon Dive & Snorkel has been out of service for the past 2 years, it has just completed a major re-fit and is now back in operation! This is fantastic news for the local Port Douglas dive community!
Port Douglas diving day trip Poseidon Dive & Snorkel Days of Operation:
The boat has now re-launched and started operations from Friday – 27th September 2024. At this point, it will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before moving to a 7-day-a-week schedule starting – Monday – 03rd February 2025.
Vessel Specifications and History:
Poseidon Dive & Snorkel has operated from Port Douglas for over 44 years! The boat has a reputation as being a divers boat. The vessel at 24 metres in length is a TWIN hull boat that offers a large spacious dive deck. There is plenty of elbow room to gear up with your dive gear.
The crew is laid back, fun, and friendly. You can see they love what they do! Why wouldn’t they be able to wake up and dive on the Great Barrier Reef daily? It is a diver’s dream come true!
Safety is paramount! With high safety standards, all dives are guided by professional dive instructors. Passengers can complete three certified dives all in one day!

The boat departs Port Douglas at 8:30 am and returns at 4:30 pm. Port Douglas diving day trip Poseidon Dive & Snorkel have reef permits on the Agincourt ribbon reef systems. Poseidon has 35 exclusive reef dive sites to choose from. The boat captain can choose the best reef sites based on that day’s weather conditions.
Underwater Photography Friendly:
A large spacious dive deck allows for a dedicated camera area and camera bucket for those who wish to bring large camera rigs and video filming gear. The crew are avid photographers and divers and only too happy to help point out marine animals and reef landscapes to capture.
